August Favourites 2019

So, this is the third monthly favourites post over on my little corner of the internet! I feel an almost cringe-worthy sense of inner pride about that.. But anyway, here’s what I’ve been loving throughout the month of August:

Huda Beauty Lip Strobe – Shade ‘Boujee’: If you follow me on Instagram, you’ll know it’s no secret how much I love this lip strobe by Huda Beauty. I received it in my Glossboy Haul last month, and I’ve been wearing it almost daily every since! I love to pair this product with the Kat Von D liquid lipstick in ‘Lolita’ as they’re such similar colours, and I love to pair a lipgloss with a liquid lipstick as it leaves the lipgloss looking flawless and opaque.

Lush ‘Sleepy’ body wash: I only have the miniature bottle of this, but it’s actually lasted me way over a month. I’m not usually one to give into the sleeping remedies brands create, as the majority of the time they just don’t work for me. However, this product actually helps me sleep so much better. The way it leaves skin feeling soft to the touch paired with the soft scent of lavender is what seems to do the trick for me. If you struggle with your sleep, I’d definitely recommend giving this product a go.

Walking: I’ve been making sure I walk at least half an hour daily throughout August, and it has really been helping to clear my head. It’s good for you physically as well as mentally, so where can you go wrong?! If you suffer from anxiety/overthinking, I’d definitely recommend going for daily short walks as it’s amazing for clearing your mind and helping you feel more peaceful due to being surrounded by nature.

Reading: As you can probably tell from my August reading-wrap up, I’ve really been getting back into reading throughout August. Especially in the last 2 weeks, I’ve rekindled my love for an old hobby of mine and I’m so happy about it! Absolutely nothing compares to the tranquillity of getting lost in a book. It’s probably the thing that distracts me most from my own mind.

Throwback songs: The Spotify playlist ‘Cheesy Hits’ has been on repeat through my Alexa for weeks on end now. It’s the perfect playlist for when you first wake up in the morning right through to when you go to sleep. Happy? Sad? Tired? Energetic? This playlist is the answer – I’m telling you!

My apologies for there being less beauty/skin care products included in this months favourites, I just haven’t had the money to try anything new out! I’ve been working massively on my mental health throughout August, so I thought I’d include some of the things that have helped me through that process.

Do you love any of the things I mentioned?! What have you been enjoying throughout August? Let me know down in the comments – I’d love to hear your August favourites too!

  1. Loved this! I’ve been wanting to do a big restock of makeup and skincare for the colder months so this came at just the right time 🙂 I absolutely adore Lush’s sleepy range! I also ordered the ASOS face and body JOMO box and I am so impressed with everything in there!

  3. My dog helps me get outside to go on walks because daily. It is good mentally for me. I try to go daily unless I just don’t have the energy or the weather is bad.

I plan to get back into reading too. It is where I found my love for writing and inspiration to write my first novel. I want to start so I can find the inspiration to write another novel.

  4. Ooooh I heard so many great things about Lush’s body wash! I need to check it out one of these days, especially with it feeling great. It is great that you have been taking walks. I feel you about the throwback songs, hehe. I’ve been listening to some 90’s and early 00’s hip hop today. Thanks for sharing some faves :)!
